Made-in-America

'Conscious America’ is a site designed, in hope, to show that we can control many critical aspects of our lives, if we choose to accept responsibility for the choices that we make.

Decency – a rare concept. An unknown or a long-forgotten view of ourselves and the world around us.

Decency has a few principles (for those who wish to remember):

  • "Live as you choose, but harm no one" (Universe, the beginning of time)
  • Truth - You cannot walk the path of decency while ignoring the Truth.
Many choose to see their opinions as the truth. It can be twisted, depending on one's political or other affiliations. It is especially evident in the media. They will take an incident, twist it and deform it to suit their beliefs, and present it as the news???
  • CompassionDecency is when the pain of others feels as if it were your own.
Such people do not ask, "Why should we be the Sheriff in the world?" They stand up against the evil and die, if fate deems it necessary.
  • Do not kill - whatever the reason may be, the price for the life we take is great, and will be exacted by the
Universe no matter what, spanning many lifetimes.
  • Decent will never stand by and allow evil to spread. I think, this is the most important and difficult
principal of all. It is in conflict with the previous point of not killing. But evil doesn't spring out of nowhere. Evil is ignored, while it grows and expands, gaining strength, building alliances. "What does it have to do with us?", 'good' people say. Remember a little incident of 1941? We couldn't care less about the atrocities that Nazis were committing. And when Japan attacked us, we asked, "How could this have happen?" Even if we choose to ignore evil, it doesn't ignore us. It grows like a cancer, consuming all in its path, until it knocks on your door.
  • To walk the path of decency is like walking on the burning coals; every step you take will sear your flesh, yet you cannot stop - there is no other path available to you.
I think the best statement on this subject was made by a German man, Martin Niemoeller, about the rise of fascism:
"First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist so I did
not speak out. Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade
Unionists, but I was neither, so I did not speak out. Then they came for
the Jews, but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out. And when they came
for me, there was no one left to speak out for me."

I strongly believe it is to be one of the best statements on the subject of humanity and decency. Whatever this man did or didn't do is
not for us to judge, but what he learned surpasses the knowledge of most men of our time.
